With over 5,000 players in NBA history, it's fascinating to note that there has been at least one player born on every day of the calendar year – including three leap day ballers. Let's take a closer look at the players born on each day of the year in our day-by-day breakdown.

Below are the most notable NBA players born on Jan.14.

Swen Nater (1950)

Not many NBA players have come out of the Netherlands, but Nater is one of the best Dutch players ever. The Dutchman was selected 16th overall in the 1973 NBA Draft after a successful stint at UCLA. He spent his first three seasons in the ABA, making two All-Star appearances and winning Rookie of the Year. Nater joined the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA in 1976 but found a home in San Diego the following year. Nater spent the next six seasons with the San Diego Clippers and played his final game in 1984. He averaged 12.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.6 blocks throughout his 11-year career. Nater also led the league in total rebounds in 1979.

Ron Behagen (1951)

Behagen was a standout at Minnesota University during his college career, earning him the seventh overall pick in the 1973 NBA Draft. That debut campaign was his best season, finishing second in Rookie of the Year voting. The power forward played for eight teams across his seven-year career, suiting up for the Kansas City Kings, New Orleans Jazz, Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks and Washington Bullets. He retired in 1980, averaging 10.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.7 steals throughout his career.
